Concrete flooring in the home has recently found a re-invigoration in the marketplace. For years, concrete flooring was relegated to commercial spaces; and terrazzo flooring from the 1950’s became simply an outdated style. Recently, Coulter Designs has had the pleasure to find that concrete flooring in the home is on the rise again!
One of the reasons we have learned as to why concrete flooring is back in vogue is the ability to change it with relative ease. At Coulter Designs, we pour thin overlays on top of various existing substrates and then incorporate the desired design elements into the overlay. Since the overlay is relatively thin, if there comes a time in the not so distant future you didn’t quite love that aqua acid stained concrete floor, for example, we could simply grind the floor down and pour another overlay!
The durability of concrete flooring speaks for itself. If you have ever dropped by our Design Gallery on 14th Avenue in Vero Beach, then we’re sure you have seen owner and artisan Richard Coulter’s hammer demonstration illustrating the strength of our overlay. Even in our gallery, the concrete floors have been redone at least three times and you would never know it! This artistic flexibility is not often an option in home remodeling, but at Coulter Designs we are proud to tout the extreme artistry available in the decorative concrete world, especially at Coulter Designs.
If you can dream it, we can do it!
